The collaboration between the Biosphère and Vous êtes ici continues with a one of a kind exhibition, the logical follow-up to a 2007 fashion show. To make this event an unforgettable experience, the eco-communicator K (Karine Lanoie) called on the gsmprjct° team for its expertise in showcasing objects in a museum setting.
At the heart of the event are sixteen dresses, created by as many artists and fashioned from materials representative of overconsumption and environmental pollution: electrical wires, gun shells, fresh salmon skins, stuffed toys, computer equipment, batteries, etc. The designers at gsmprjct° created an exhibition around these outfits, where each dress and its corresponding theme is gradually discovered, arousing curiosity and eliciting emotion. The arrangement used consists of the same trio: an adapted platform, an explanatory video and an accompanying object, cyclically reinterpreted. To respect the theme of the exhibition, all the elements of the decor are eco-conscious. Consequently, the exhibition platforms transform into boxes, ensuring the easy transport of the entire show from one city to another. And if their exteriors seem rather unremarkable, their interiors were treated with materials complementing the dress styles, creating, once set up, sixteen unique settings.
The exhibition opens with a shimmering dress and closes with another, inviting visitors to participate in the creation of a collective mural, encouraging their involvement in the cause for the responsible use of non-recyclable materials.
